Report: Dragon Gate USA Looking To Pursue Legal Action

Source: PWInsider.com

– Dragon Gate USA will have to change their plans & line ups for their Phoenix, AZ shows on Wrestlemania 26 weekend, and they are not happy about it.

TNA had reportedly pulled The Young Bucks/Generation Me from scheduled Dragon Gate USA shows in Phoenix. A legal letter was sent to both TNA & The Young Bucks saying that if they have not heard back by February 5th, a lawsuit would be filed based on the premise that The Young Bucks entered into a verbal contract with DGUSA prior to signing a deal with TNA, and that TNA have no right to supersede that agreement since the Bucks were set and advertised many months before their TNA deal.

There have been rumored phone conversations between Terry Taylor & Gabe Sapolsky several weeks back that ended with Sapolsky screaming at Taylor and hanging up the phone on him. Sapolsky when asked about the call, denied this happened.

Dragon Gate USA is expected to pursue Davey Richards in a similar fashion after Richards, who was the top American star for the promotion, opted to sign a new deal with Ring of Honor. The belief is that Richards informed DGUSA officials he was signing the new deal, and would be working for ROH in Phoenix rather than DGUSA.

It appears that DGUSA will use a similar “verbal contract” stance in pursuing legal action against Richards for not appearing in Phoenix, although as of this writing, nothing has been filed. It does not appear at this time that DGUSA will pursue Ring of Honor since they would likely have no legal leg to stand on.
