As an update to yesterdays release of both Sim Snuka & Candice Michelle, neither were a surprise internally. It is believed that Snuka had taken the blame for the scary bump Undertaker ended up taking when he dove out of the ring against Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania. Snuka was working as the “cameraman” and was supposed to catch Taker. Depending on who you speak to, Snuka either saved Taker from death, or completely caused the bump to be a near disaster but still ended up with the blame and was never used on television again.
In the case of Candice Michelle, she was never the same when she returned to the ring after breaking her collarbone. There were also some people in the company that were upset that she was working on other projects while convalescing from her most recent ankle issues. Her release did reportedly catch her off guard as she just received clearance to return to the ring. Michelle spoke on her release by saying “I am free to grow!” on her Twitter page shortly after it was announced that she was released.
