According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, several sources have noted that World Wrestling Entertainment has begun to lay off a number of staff at WWE Headquarters. One sources described the layoffs as close to 10% of the staff.
There is no confirmation on the severity of the layoffs, but what is confirmed is that there were employees from WWE.com, television and the office area that were let go today.
Also, former ECW referee Keenan Quinn who had been sent back down to Florida Championship Wrestling when the decision was made to use a singular crew of referees for a loop, as opposed to a separate collection of referees for each brand as part of WWE’s economic cutbacks, was released this week.
